Join Us for the 2024 RCHM Online Conference on Research in Chinese Herbal Medicine!
Explore cutting-edge research, community discussions, and insights into the future of Chinese herbal medicine at this year's inaugural online conference. This event will bring together researchers, students, and practitioners from our community to discuss the critical questions shaping our field. With a blend of presentations, discussions, and networking opportunities, this is a must-attend for anyone passionate about the potential of Chinese herbal medicine.
Conference Schedule:
Morning Sessions (10am - 12:30pm)
• Welcome and Introduction: Kick off the conference with a brief introduction from RCHM President Martin John, and CEO Jo Teasdale as they set the stage for a day of discovery and dialogue. (10 mins)
• Community Discussion - “What Research Do We Need as a Community?” : Led by Steve Woodley, this interactive session dives into the research gaps that matter most. (30 mins)
• Student Research Presentations: Featuring Bruce McCallum and Angela Lithgow-Maclean, two students presenting fresh perspectives on Chinese herbal medicine. (15 mins each)
After a short break, we continue with (11.30 -12.30):
• Keynote speech by Volker Scheid: Gain valuable insights from one of the field’s leading voices. (30 mins)
• PhD Research Spotlights: Hear from Steve Woodley and Martin Fitzgerald as they present the findings from their exciting research. (15 mins each)
Afternoon Sessions (1:30pm - 3pm)
• Research Presentation by Alex Jacobs: Delve into treating Shan Disorder with Alex’s dynamic presentation. (20 mins)
• PhD and Student Research: Discover emerging research from Xiaowen (15 mins)and Michael Ranft (15 mins), followed by an update from Merlin Wilcox on Southampton University’s recent work (15 mins).
Closing Sessions (3pm - Finish at 4pm)
• Paper Retraction Insight: How research can work in a powerful way to advance our cause - Helen Chuntso leads a discussion on the evolving standards in research publication and the importance of this particular retraction (20 mins).
• Community Discussion - “Increasing Our Impact” : Join a closing dialogue on how we can leverage existing research to connect with the public and amplify our community’s impact. (30 mins)
