Biography

Steve Woodley has been studying medical systems around the world and throughout history since reading anthropology at university over 20 years ago. He takes an interest in applying modern ideas to understand how ancient techniques worked and applying them in ways appropriate for today.

He is trained in acupuncture, tui na (manual therapy) and Chinese herbal medicine, and is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Westminster researching how traditional medicines affect our cellular energy metabolism and how this can be used to functionally assess the quality and potency of herbs. He is also a module leader for the Masters degree research projects in Advanced Oriental Medicine and Nutrition at the Northern College of Acupuncture.
